UK retailer Space Store to expand into Chinese market

On 27 November, UK retailer Space Store signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Magna Carta Island International Innovation Centre, marking the start of an ambitious plan to launch its retail enterprise into the Chinese market.

A brand-new experiential retail concept, Space Store offers ‘Access to Space for Everyone, Everywhere, Everyday’ and is rolling out following the success of a series of pop up events since its launch in August 2018.

The signing took place at Satellite Applications Catapult, one of the early supporters of the project and home to the first Space Store pop-up.

What are Space Stores?

Space Stores are themed around space and offer visitors the chance to taste the experience through Virtual Reality, to don replica space suits, to purchase space related products and to enjoy food and drink in their astronaut cafe.

The environment is designed to be interactive and fun from the moment you enter the store, inspiring a new generation of astronauts, space researchers, engineers and space travelers.
