Founded in 2012 by Alan Donegan and Simon Paine, the partners thought that traditional approaches to starting a business, for example applying for start-up loans and having to produce business plans can put people off, who may have great ideas.
The PopUp Business School was launched in order to find, inspire and help people start businesses. The school found that, especially at grassroots a different approach is needed, so they reinvented how to start a business. The first PopUp Business School event was held in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset and the scheme produced incredible results. Over the last six years the school has partnered with housing associations, universities, Jobcentre Plus, and local authorities to help start more than 1500 businesses in communities across the UK.
The Faringdon school is a multi-day course with a focus on teaching different subjects each day. You do not have to commit to every day, however the more days you attend, the more you will get out of the course.
The course runs between 10:00-15:00 daily at The Pump House (Jubilee Room) in Faringdon town centre. Find out more and register to attend at this link.
