Social Saturday is the day to raise awareness for and support social enterprises, and it will be taking place this year on Saturday 13 October.
Social enterprises are using business to create a more equal society. They are creating jobs where they’re needed most and are tackling some of the biggest challenges we face, from homelessness to climate change.
Events will begin on Monday 8 October and will be happening all week, allowing a wide variety of social enterprises the chance to get involved – whether that means putting on an event, opening their doors to the public or supporting the campaign on social media.
Our region has a fast-growing Social Enterprise sector, helping to address social and environmental challenges. Key stakeholders including OxLEP and the Oxford Universities collaborate to support and promote this through the Oxfordshire Social Entrepreneurship Partnership OSEP. So if your social enterprise has an event planned, or if it’s open to the public during 8-13 October, contact Grant Hayward at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Events planned include everything from pop-up markets to bag making workshops and dance classes, and plenty of great social enterprises will open to the public. All those taking part will be displayed on the Social Saturday map.
